State Service for Special Communications and Information Security of the Republic of Azerbaijan continues conducting audits and monitoring of information security to protect government institutions from existing and potential threats.
Despite the implementation of the "Cyber Hygiene Project" for government employees, the promotion of the "Instructions for Ensuring Information Security," and other awareness-raising activities carried out, during the first quarter, several employees of various government institutions have become victims of hacker attacks due to non-compliance with cyber hygiene rules.

In addition, citizens who do not follow information security and personal cyber hygiene rules while using the internet also fall victim to hacker attacks. Although our Service does not have comprehensive statistics on such citizens, it has been possible to identify the number of citizens who, after becoming victims of hacker attacks, have lost not only the data on their personal computers but also the authentication credentials (login, password) and personal information related to the electronic services of the government institutions they use.
