The “4th Summit of IT Leaders of State Institutions” was held

The event is regularly organized by the Special Communication and Information Security State Service with the aim of facilitating the exchange of experience among the leadership of state institutions responsible for information security and strengthening inter-agency communication.

More than 100 representatives from 73 state institutions participated in the event.

Opening the “Summit,” the Head of Main Department of the Special Communication and Information Security State Service, Major General Azar Ahadov, greeted the participants and stated that Azerbaijan’s activities in the ICT field are being successfully continued along the strategic line defined with great foresight by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and that today the importance of information technologies and the necessity of their widespread use are among the issues receiving special attention from the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev. In his speech, A. Ahadov also emphasized that raising the awareness of state institutions, media representatives, and the public about cyber threats is equally important. The Head of Main Department also provided detailed information about the international “Cyber Diplomacy” conference, which will be held for the first time in the region by the Special Communication and Information Security State Service, as well as the “Cyber Polygon” project approved by NATO’s Science for Peace and Security programme.

Later, at the opening ceremony of the event, Rahid Akbarli, Deputy Minister and Acting Minister of Digital Development and Transport of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Elmir Valiyev, Head of Sector at the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, delivered speeches. During the continuation of the event, Tural Mammadov, Head of a department of the Special Communication and Information Security State Service, on the topic “Information security status of state institutions, innovations and plans,” and Ümit Yalçın Şen, Head of Cybersecurity Services at KPMG, on the topic “Internal information security status in enterprises, innovations and plans,” provided participants with extensive information.

The “4th Summit of IT Leaders of State Institutions” concluded with discussions on new threats and their solutions, as well as the challenges faced by state institutions.
