The Special Communication and Information Security State Service continues to expand cooperation with educational institutions
Lieutenant General Ilgar Musayev, Head of the Special Communication and Information Security State Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SCISSS), together with a group of the Service’s representatives, met with the Rector and academic staff of SOCAR’s Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS).
Rector of BHOS, Elmar Gasimov, introduced the guests to the university, providing information on the academic programs offered, as well as recent initiatives and projects in the fields of information technologies and cybersecurity. Representatives of SCISSS familiarized themselves with the university’s infrastructure, ICT laboratories, the Department of Information Technologies, the learning environment, and student facilities.
Welcoming the guests, Rector Elmar Gasimov emphasized that such cooperation between public institutions and educational organizations lays the foundation for new directions of collaboration, contributing to students’ professional development and creating opportunities for them to become leading specialists in their respective fields. He also provided detailed information on BHOS’s activities in the field of information security, as well as the modern academic programs and projects implemented by the institution.
In his remarks, Lieutenant General Ilgar Musayev presented information about the activities of SCISSS and noted that human capital is the cornerstone of success in any field. He highlighted the importance of organizing practical master classes for BHOS students and stated that opportunities to undertake internships at the future Information Security Testing Laboratory to be established at the university, as well as at SCISSS Data Centers, would enable students to gain valuable hands-on experience and enhance their professional preparedness.
Lieutenant General Musayev expressed confidence that this new area of cooperation would be beneficial and contribute significantly to the development of the partnership. A detailed presentation on the activities of SCISSS was also delivered during the meeting.
Following the discussions, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Special Communication and Information Security State Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan and SOCAR’s Baku Higher Oil School.
The document was signed by Lieutenant General Ilgar Musayev, Head of SCISSS, and Elmar Gasimov, Rector of BHOS.
The Memorandum envisages the organization of knowledge-sharing sessions and practical master classes by SCISSS across various fields, the development and implementation of modern information security practices for students, joint research activities, exchange of experience, participation in real-world projects, and cooperation in other areas of mutual interest.
