The next “Cyber Security Summit – Central Eurasia” event was held in Uzbekistan

On 9–10 October of the current year, the “Cyber Security Summit – Central Eurasia (CSS-2024)” event was held in Tashkent, the capital city of the Republic of Uzbekistan, organized by the National Cybersecurity Center of Uzbekistan. Representatives of the Special Communication and Information Security State Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Organizations Association  Rauf Jabarov and Secretary General Fidan Ahmadova, participated in the event.

Organized for the second consecutive year, the event aimed to showcase technologies that would contribute to ensuring the security of critical infrastructure, conduct discussions on the sector, and promote networking and cooperation.

The conference, which constituted the main part of the event, was held under the theme “Cyber Defense for a Digital Central Eurasia.” During the conference, presentations were delivered by senior representatives and experts from relevant institutions and companies operating in the field of cybersecurity in the countries of the region. In addition, innovative solutions and technologies developed by various local and foreign companies were showcased.

Murad Balayev, a representative of the Special Communication and Information Security State Service, which was an official partner of the event, delivered a speech at the first plenary session dedicated to the topic “Global Cybersecurity Threat Landscape: Trends, Forecasts and the Importance of International Cooperation” as the official representative of the OIC-CERT organization in his capacity as a member of its Board of Directors. During the subsequent session, he provided information on the activities and experience of the Service he represented, as well as the Computer Emergency Response Center (CERT.GOV.AZ) operating under its authority.

Within the framework of the two-day international event, cybersecurity competitions were also held among numerous local teams in the fields of robotics, the Internet of Things (IoT), Blue Team, and Red Team disciplines.
