Nine-Month Bulletin on the Work Carried Out by the State Service for Special Communication and Information Security to Ensure the Information Security of State Bodies

1. During the period from January to October of the current year, the State Service for Special Communication and Information Security detected 679,430,000 malicious connections across the AzStateNet network. In addition, 3,818,400 malicious files were blocked through the centrally managed antivirus system deployed on end-user devices, while 185,163 malicious electronic documents were blocked through the Sandbox protection system, a significant concept in computer and software security. Furthermore, through the use of cyber intelligence capabilities, 53 fraudulent domains imitating government agency domains (gov.az) were identified and blocked during the third quarter, bringing the total number of such domains detected and blocked during the first nine months of the current year to 77.

2. During the third quarter, as a result of cyberattack analysis carried out by the State Service for Special Communication and Information Security, 828 indicators of cyberattacks were identified. The blocking of these indicators prevented targeted Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) cyberattacks prepared against state agencies. Of these cyber threats, 439 were identified through internal investigations, while 389 were identified based on requests from state agencies.

3. During the first nine months of the current year, 23,478,567 emails were processed within the state email service established by the State Service for Special Communication and Information Security for government agencies. Of these, 21,738,530 emails were delivered to users, while 1,740,037 emails were identified as malicious and subsequently blocked.
