“Critical Infrastructure Defence Challenge 2025"

On October 9–10, 2025, the “Critical Infrastructure Defense Challenge 2025” (CIDC-2025) event, organized by the Special Communication and Information Security State Service and the State Security Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, will be held at the Baku Congress Center. As the first event of this format was held two years ago, CIDC-2025 will also bring together representatives of state institutions, leading experts in the field, and students. The main goal of the event is to discuss modern trends in cybersecurity, solve real problems, and demonstrate cyber defense solutions that respond to contemporary challenges.

Within the framework of CIDC-2025, training exercises titled “Cyber Warfare in Smart Cities” will be conducted. The purpose of these exercises is to strengthen the protection of virtual critical information systems against cyber threats and to improve practical skills in managing information systems during crisis situations. During the exercises, teams of 3–5 people will attempt to defend their virtual information systems against simulated cyberattacks. The prize fund for the exercises will amount to 30,000 AZN.

A cybersecurity conference will also be held as part of the event. Conference participants will take part in presentations and panel discussions on current issues in cyberspace, including the application of new technologies such as artificial intelligence, deepfake, and Zero Trust in the global cyber environment, analysis of real incidents, development prospects of the information security market, and more. They will also receive practical advice from experts.

In addition, the event will include a free training program called “Hack The Future 2.” Within this program, six free masterclasses in cybersecurity will be offered to participants, taking into account various age groups and levels of knowledge.
