Azerbaijan has signed the UN Convention against Cybercrime.
On October 25–26, in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, the ceremonial signing of the UN "Convention against Cybercrime" by states was held. The Convention was signed on behalf of Azerbaijan by Ali Naghiyev, the head of the State Security Service.
The event was attended by UN Secretary-General António Guterres, Vietnam’s President Luong Cuong, delegations from various countries, and international experts.
The main objectives of the Convention are to strengthen legal cooperation between states against cybercrime, prevent the misuse of information and communication technologies, and establish international regulation mechanisms for the collection and presentation of electronic evidence.
In total, the document has been signed by 72 countries.
It should be noted that since 2019, the State Security Service, Special Communication and Information Security State Service, as well as employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, have been involved in the process of preparing the Convention.
