The “VII Summit Meeting of Heads of State Bodies on Information Security” was held in Nakhchivan
The “VII Summit Meeting of Heads of State Bodies on Information Security” was organized by the Special Communication and Information Security State Service to strengthen coordination in the field of information security in state bodies and to discuss current risks and strategic approaches. The Summit Meeting was held in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, and was attended by the heads of central and local executive authorities as well as officials responsible for information security.
Before the event, Ceyhun Jalilov, the authorized representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, and Lieutenant General Ilgar Musayev, Head of the Special Communication and Information Security State Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, visited the monument of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the center of Nakhchivan city.
Subsequently, the “VII Summit Meeting of Heads of State Bodies on Information Security” commenced its work. Opening the event with a welcoming speech, Ceyhun Jalilov, the authorized representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, emphasized the increasing role of information security in state governance, noting that the protection of state information resources in the digital environment is an important component of national security. He drew the participants’ attention to the importance of a systematic approach and institutional cooperation in this field.
Speaking in his opening address at the Summit Meeting, Lieutenant General Ilgar Musayev, Head of the Special Communication and Information Security State Service, stated that the dynamic development of cyber threats necessitates the application of new methods and mechanisms in approaches to information security. The Head of the Service noted that the main goal in ensuring information security in state bodies is to establish a resilient and coordinated security environment based on proactive defense principles. Ilgar Musayev particularly emphasized the importance of a unified policy, professional human resources, and modern technological solutions in this field. He also provided detailed statistical information on the work carried out by the Service in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
Subsequently, Azer Mammadrahimov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, delivered a speech providing information on the work carried out to ensure information security in parallel with the digital transformation processes in the Autonomous Republic. He noted that aligning the information systems of state bodies with security requirements is one of the key conditions for sustainable development.
During the continuation of the event, Tural Mammadov, Deputy Head of the Main Department of the Special Communication and Information Security State Service, delivered a report on “Statistical Indicators Regarding the Current State of Information Security in State Bodies, Work Carried Out, Innovations, and Plans in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.” The report presented to the participants the current situation in the field of protection of state information resources, the main identified risks, measures implemented to mitigate them, as well as steps taken to strengthen the information security infrastructure in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. At the same time, priority directions for the upcoming period were introduced.
Subsequently, a discussion was held on existing challenges in the field of information security, new technological trends, and the problems faced by state bodies. It was noted that Summit Meetings held in this format make an important contribution to strengthening mutual cooperation among state bodies, forming unified approaches, and establishing a sustainable system in the field of information security.
