SCISSS urges citizens to remain vigilant against fake websites.
For your information, we inform you that in recent days, various phishing-type fake domains have been created and misinformation has been spread among the population via social networks and messengers regarding the provision of targeted state social assistance. In particular, by using the name of the “myGov” portal belonging to the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan and its subordinate Innovation and Digital Development Agency (Public Legal Entity) , fraudulent websites have been created with the aim of obtaining citizens’ personal data. Through these fake websites, attempts are being made to obtain sensitive information such as citizens’ identity card details, user accounts, and bank card information.
Several such fake domains have been identified by the Computer Emergency Response Center of Special Communication and Information Security State Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan (hereinafter, the Center) and, together with the relevant authorities, their blocking across the country has been ensured. At the same time, these fake domains have been made available to the public through the Center’s “Blacklist.gov.az” platform.
We recommend that citizens, upon detecting fake domains, submit the relevant information to Blacklist.gov.az – the platform for protecting citizens from fake domains, use the platform’s relevant browser extension to protect themselves from fraudulent websites, and remain vigilant against suspicious websites and links.
