The XI Republican scientific-technical conference on the topic “Advanced Technologies and Innovations” was held

At the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), the XI Republican scientific-technical conference dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, on the topic “Advanced Technologies and Innovations” has started and will last for two days.

The rector of AzTU, Professor Vilayat Valiyev, and the Deputy Chief of the Special Communication and Information Security State Service, Allahveran Ismayilov, participated and delivered speeches at the opening ceremony of the conference.

The Deputy Head of the Service, speaking at the opening speech, noted that within the framework of the state governance course defined by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, information technologies and cybersecurity issues have always been one of the priority areas. This strategic line is today being successfully continued by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and is accompanied by consistent measures aimed at strengthening the country’s digital development and cybersecurity potential.

A. Ismayilov emphasized that artificial intelligence and cybersecurity are one of the key components of the national security system in the modern era, and stated that alongside the development of digital technologies, the scale and complexity of cyber threats are also increasing, which makes the application of proactive approaches necessary.

The Deputy Head of the Service noted that as a result of the measures taken by the Special Communication and Information Security State Service in the direction of protecting state information resources, cyber threats are promptly prevented and malicious activities are neutralized in a timely manner.

At the end, the Deputy Head of the Service stated that within the framework of the Memorandum on Cooperation signed between the Special Communication and Information Security State Service and AzTU in 2022, joint work is being carried out in the areas of personnel training in cybersecurity, scientific-research activities, and knowledge exchange. It was noted that state–university cooperation is one of the key factors in strengthening the cybersecurity ecosystem, and joint activities in this direction will continue consistently.

The event continued with speeches and discussions by young specialists in the field.
