A meeting was held at the Special Communication and Information Security State Service with the delegation of the United States Department of State

A working meeting was held at the Special Communication and Information Security State Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan with the delegation of the Bureau of Cyberspace and Digital Policy (CDP) of the United States Department of State.

The meeting took place within the framework of the Strategic Partnership Charter signed between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United States of America on February 10, 2026. The main purpose of the meeting was to assess the current state and future prospects of bilateral cooperation in the fields of cybersecurity, digital development, and artificial intelligence in accordance with the priorities set out in the aforementioned Charter.

Within the framework of the meeting, issues such as best practices in ensuring information security in state systems, security policies and measurement metrics, areas where partners can contribute in the relevant direction, cyber hygiene, cyber diplomacy and initiatives in the field of cyber policy at the international level, possible areas of cooperation with “Software Engineering Institute,” “MITRE,” and “CRDF,” exchange of experience in combating next-generation cyber threats, and the implementation of joint projects aimed at strengthening information security were discussed.

During the discussions, an exchange of views was also conducted on issues such as the integration of artificial intelligence technologies into security systems and security requirements for artificial intelligence solutions, as well as cases that may cause data leakage in the use of foreign artificial intelligence solutions, and the necessity of developing separate cyber hygiene rules regarding the use of artificial intelligence, and the delegation of the United States Department of State expressed their readiness to deepen technical cooperation with the relevant institutions of Azerbaijan.

It was noted that expanding partnerships with specialized centers of the United States in the field of ensuring the information security of state bodies through the CERT center of the Special Communication and Information Security State Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan can contribute to further strengthening the positions of both sides in combating cyber threats.
