A Delegation of SCISSS Participated in GISEC-2026 Global Cybersecurity Conference

A delegation of the Computer Emergency Response Center (CERT) of the Special Communications and Information Security State Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SCISSS) participated in the “GISEC 2026” Global Cybersecurity Conference held at Dubai Exhibition Centre in the United Arab Emirates at the invitation of the UAE Cybersecurity Council.

As part of the event, Murad Balayev, a representative of SCISSS, participated as a speaker in the panel session titled “Sovereign Shield: Operational Cyber Defense and Critical Infrastructure Resilience”, where he spoke about the critical role of centralized visibility in incident detection from the perspective of Azerbaijan State CERT, as well as the importance of international cooperation. Other representatives of the Center participated in the “Quantum Drill” cyber exercise organized with the support of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

The event also hosted the next meeting of the OIC-CERT Steering Committee. During the closed-door meeting, leading representatives of member countries, including Azerbaijan, which is a member of the OIC-CERT Steering Committee, discussed agenda items and heard reports on activities carried out in accordance with the action plan for the current year.

It should be noted that GISEC-2026 was highly significant for SCISSS representatives in terms of gaining insights into the latest technological solutions offered by leading international cybersecurity vendors and establishing cooperation ties. The conference also served as a valuable platform for direct engagement with leading CERTs from the region and around the world.
