1Information resources of state institutions are securely protected

A report by "Proofpoint", a competitor to Zimbra mail service, claims that Russia-aligned 'Winter Vivern' hackers  conducted cybercrime operations in several countries through the vulnerability number CVE-2022-27926 found on Zimbra Collaboration servers.

Although the mentioned report states that Azerbaijan is also among the targets, no information has been made of whether cybershpionage against these targets was successful or unsuccessful.

The e-mail service created by SCIS for the use of government agencies was not built on the Zimbra platform. At present, the SCIS provides services to about 30,000 users of 250 government institutions on more than 500 domains. The integration of other government agencies into this network will be completed by the end of the current year, which does not use the protected Centralized e-mail service.

For your information, we inform you that cyber-attacks of any form and purpose are constantly monitored from the centralized e-mail service established by the Service, and necessary measures are taken in time to prevent them.

In general, cyber-attacks against state institutions are constantly carried out. Among these, there are cases of attempts to create fake domains and capture accounts for the purpose of cybercrime. Last year, as a result of the cyber intelligence activity conducted by the specialists of the Service, 48 cases of forged domains resembling government agencies domains were identified, and cyberattacks were prevented by blocking them during the preparatory phase.
