Cybersecurity Days are being held in Azerbaijan

On 19 September of the current year, a conference dedicated to the theme “Cybersecurity for a Green Economy” commenced in Baku. Within the framework of the event, hosted by PROSOL, the Special Communication and Information Security State Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan organized the “CTF – Capture the Flag” cybersecurity competition.
At the opening ceremony of the conference, Major General Allahveran Ismayilov, Deputy Head of the Special Communication and Information Security State Service, delivered a speech. He noted that, as a result of the attention and support provided by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, towards the formation and development of the national cybersecurity ecosystem, Azerbaijan advanced by 36 positions in the ranking of the Global Cybersecurity Index, rising from 86th to 50th place. The Deputy Head emphasized that the Special Communication and Information Security State Service regularly audits and monitors the information systems of state institutions, thereby promptly assessing their information security status. In addition, A. Ismayilov stated that, within a few days, the first international conference in the region dedicated to the topic of “Cyber Diplomacy” would be held jointly by the Special Communication and Information Security State Service and the Cyber Diplomacy Center of the Republic of Romania.
Within the framework of the conference dedicated to the theme “Cybersecurity for a Green Economy,” participants will exchange views on the latest trends and challenges in the field of cybersecurity, while panel discussions and the “CTF – Capture the Flag” cybersecurity competition will also be held. Representatives of Azerbaijan’s public and private sectors, cybersecurity experts, as well as delegates from the United States, Turkey, Israel, Poland, Ukraine, France, Kazakhstan, Croatia, and Pakistan will participate in the panel discussions.
In the “CTF – Capture the Flag” cybersecurity competition organized by the Special Communication and Information Security State Service, 20 cyber teams representing public and private institutions will compete for the top three places.
The conference will continue for two days.
