Special Communications and Information Security State Service (SCISSS) participated in the “Innovation and Artificial Intelligence” Conference organized by AmCham
On October 2 of the current year, a conference on “Innovation and Artificial Intelligence” was held, organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan (AmCham Azerbaijan).
The event brought together representatives of the public and private sectors, as well as industry experts, to discuss modern trends in artificial intelligence and digital transformation, as well as the potential for implementing innovative solutions.
Tural Mammadov, Deputy Head of the Main Department of the Special Communications and Information Security State Service (SCISSS), delivered remarks during the panel discussion titled “Global Trends and Innovation: Planning for the Future.”
In his speech, he elaborated on emerging threats posed by the use of artificial intelligence in cybercrime and fraud — including voice cloning, deepfake technologies, and personalized phishing attacks — and outlined mechanisms for protecting both businesses and individuals from such risks.
Mr. Mammadov also informed participants about the measures taken by SCISSS in response to the requirements set forth in the Artificial Intelligence Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2025–2028. These include the assessment of information security risks in areas where AI is being implemented within government institutions, as well as efforts to ensure cybersecurity in relation to AI technologies across the public sector.
The main objective of the panel was to inform participants about global shifts affecting society, technology, and the economy amid the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence.
